Breaking:  In conjunction with both Newbury Pride and the Beaumont Society we have countersigned a letter from TransActual being sent to all MPs:  This is the statement from TransActual: "Today, along with over 80 partner organisations, we are writing to MPs across the UK calling for robust Parliamentary scrutiny of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s (EHRC) forthcoming Code of Practice on Services, Public Functions and Associations.

Full Statement: https://transactual.org.uk/blog/2025/09/01/joint-statement-calling-on-mps-to-scrutinise-the-ehrc-code-of-practice/

We are also encouraging individuals to take action. We have provided a template letter that you can use to write to your own MP, outlining your personal concerns and asking them to push for proper scrutiny of the Code. It is vital that MPs hear directly from the people whose lives will be affected.

Who We Are

Nestled in the heart of the Thames Valley, Newbury and Thatcham are a pair of thriving co-joined market towns with a healthy population and a vibrant social life.  There are many fine restaurants, pubs and coffee shops around the two towns providing many opportunities to meet with friends in a convivial atmosphere.  And, perhaps, just as important there are lots of opportunities to shop.

Newbury is also home of a very active and supportive Pride organisation and we were proud to have led the march through the town for the past few years.

Until a few years ago there was no support group for transgender individuals in this area and we had to travel some distance to find suitable groups and, therefore, we set up this group to help out our sisters, brothers, families and friends with friendship, help and advice either in person or virtually either through social media or video calls which are usually well patronised and open to almost any subject, even, if you must, football.

We are inclusive and supportive and accepting of anyone who identifies as trans - we also understand that there are as many classifications of trans as people who identify as such.  If you are interested then please explore the information on these pages and feel free to contact us if you wish.
