There are a number of organisations in the UK that can help with all aspects of being transgender, several are linked below

  • The oldest national transgender support organisation in the UK and possibly the world is the Beaumont Society and the Beaumont Parents email helpline for parents of trans "young adults"
  • The best known support group catering primarily to transgender children and their families is Mermaids
  • Stonewall is a national LGBTQ+ charity that campaigns for inclusivity and acceptance
  • A charity that campaigns for transgender rights and for understanding and educating about the causes of transgender people is GIRES
  • Spectra is another charity offering help for transgender people
  • A service offering holistic, sexual and wellbeing health for all trans people is CliniQ
  • A support charity for transgender individuals, friends and families across the south of England is Chysalis
  • A local Reading based support organisation that caters for transgender issues amongst others is SupportU
  • A website that can locate nearby transgender support and social groups is Trans Unite however this does rely on people keeping it up to date
  • Another website that exists to help with understanding and improving the status of transgender people is Gendered Intelligence
  • A helpline for helping with emotional support and other issues is Mindline Trans+, this is weekday evenings only at the moment
  • Newbury Pride provides a lot of information and resources about the town's Pride Parade and the local LGBTQIA+ activities
  • Museum of Transology is a museum of the artefacts that tell the story of transgender people
